As a pediatric Occupational Therapist I want to help children thrive. I received my Master’s of Occupational Therapy from the University of Alberta. I have experience working with children of all ages and a wide variety of diagnosis in school, clinical, and community settings.
I believe in using meaningful activities to help children participate in what they need and/or want to do in order to promote physical and mental health and well-being. I am passionate about reducing any barriers to a child’s participation. In my work with children and their families I strive to help children meet developmental milestones, overcome sensory challenges and work on self-care, play and regulation skills. I focus on understanding and supporting behavioural, physical or cognitive conditions that may affect a child’s movement/ coordination, thoughts, perception/memory, sensory processing, visual-motor and/or self-regulation.
Using a strengths-based approach I focus on identifying and building upon each child abilities. I believe that every child is unique, and every day is a new learning experience. I have, and continue to, pursue many continued education opportunities to further develop my clinical skills. I have additional experience in the areas of autism spectrum disorder (ASD), sensory processing, executive functioning, neurodiversity, and emotional regulation.
