Aimee Hughes, Registered Social Worker in Edmonton at J Gordon Psychology Group

Aimee Hughes

Registered Social Worker
As a Social Worker with over ten years of counselling experience, I have helped children, youth, and adults navigate the ups and downs of their emotions. Whether you or your child are experiencing feelings of depression, anxiety, self-harm, obsessive thoughts, or attention difficulties, I can tailor my therapy to fit your needs. I pull from a variety of evidence-based approaches, such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Theraplay, and play-based techniques. I have experience working with 2SLGBTQIA+ communities, not only providing gender-affirming care, but also helping parents with any questions if they are new to this world.
As a mother of two children, I understand how overwhelming it can be to navigate your child’s big emotions, and I understand the guilt of wondering if we could be doing a better job. I can work with both you and your child so that we can tackle the challenges together, without judgement.

“Courage doesn’t always roar. Sometimes courage is the little voice at the end of the day that says, ‘I’ll try again tomorrow.”
